Chapter Takes Action
Chapter Takes Action to Support the Effort to Reduce the Spread of the Corona Virus.
As the outbreak of the novel coronavirus grows internationally and across the country, Penn State is urging its faculty, staff, students, and alumni to be vigilant and to continue to exercise good judgment to stay as safe as possible. In addition to the risk to their personal health, everyone should be aware of the elevated risk to other members of the community — including individuals with compromised immune systems and the elderly — should they become infected. Here are a few simple steps that each of us can take to help protect yourself and others.
Following the guidelines published by PSAA, the Capital Area Chapter will be cancelling all current social and volunteer events and will not be scheduling any new events for the next three weeks. We will reevaluate this position on a weekly basis. These actions are being taken to assist in the reduction of social contact to help reduce the rate of the virus’ spread. We are also working with Penn State Health to develop some informational articles and updates related to the Coronavirus. They will be distributed as soon as they become available. We ask everyone to heed the advice being provided by the University, Governmental, and Health Care organizations for your own benefit and the benefit of the community.
